Any good writing has some planning, pre-writing, and/or brainstorming that happens before the actual writing starts. Did you know that this part of the writing process only needs a few minutes and can be as short as just some words & phrases?
Let's practice this now! Brainstorm some words or phrases that come to mind when you think of the season of summer. (Note: there's no right or wrong answers when doing brainstorming!)
Here are a few things that come to mind for me. Your list may be similar or different!
warmer weather
greener grass
rain storms
flowers
Now let's see your brainstorming list for some summer terms.

The Sunrays of Summer is hotter than any time of the year.
In my opinion, July was the rainest month of 2010.
Hurricanes are unpredictable, complex, and intense which causes my day to change.
When its really windy the rip currents get vicious at the beach.
I think June, July, August are some of the best months to Barbque.
Reading a good mystery novel keeps you intrigued and sometimes my imagination is better than the author and I get dissapointed so I close the book.
Writing on a summer day makes my imagination explode.
Mosquitos transfers viruses from different people all around the world.
After a horrible thunderstorm the mist in the air hits the sun and forms a beautiful rainbow, "Oh what a sight to see."
The Irish always say there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and one day I'll hope to find it because I know I have the Luck of the Irish.
For the summer you always have a picture of the perfect bathing suit and never could find it and have to settle for second best.
Years ago I was not worned about the rays of the sun causing skin cancer and now I wear a lot of sun block to protect from it.
