Describe it!

Have you ever had someone describe something to you that you could perfectly picture in your mind? That's what we should all strive to do with our writing. It should be detailed in a way that your reader has a clear vision of what you're discussing.

Pick some item and describe it with a few key phrases!

I'll start with what I'm having for breakfast, potato salad. (Yes, that really is what I'm eating for breakfast today!)

Potato salad: chunky potatoes, creamy mayo, small chive pieces, crunchy celery bits

With those descriptive phrases, can you picture (and almost taste) that in your mind?

Now you give it a try!

My husband always makes us a Saturday morning breakfast. Crispy Waffles, with butter and warm maple syrup. Soft inside but crunchy on the outside hashbrowns and crispy, smokey bacon. All of this made perfect with my big mug of steaming, hot coffee, sweetened with carmely raw sugar, and softened with cold rich half and half. Yumo!

I visited the San Francisco Bay area. The view from the tram was magnificent. I looked out towards the bay area and amongst a back drop of a perfectly blue sky, white seagulls were flying. You could hear the sound penetrating through the afternoon sky. A scene I will never forget.

For dinner I'm thinking of having my favorite Thai dish.
Chicken basil and vegetable fried rice.

The rice made with the freshes vegtables, baby corn, mushrooms, green beans, onions, cooked just right with a little crunch and blended with thier special fried rice seasoning mix.
Chicken Basil: small pieces of juicy boneless chicken sauted with basils and some other fresh spices
Spicy but delicious

Sitting at the beach: sticky shell-flecked sand, boisterous green and white waves, hot sun, bare feet, salt-dried skin, revitalizing wind, cold sweet apples

As my fingers slash a bit of seasoning, the sizzling, steaming tilpia slaps my face. The fried tilapia seasoning simmers from the kitchen to the rooms. Luring my daughter and husband to the table. The plate filled with vibrant colors of food. Slashed orange, lime green lettuce, red tomatoes, white rice, and brown sizzled tilapia.

Can you picture these barbeque ribs I had for dinner tonight.

Tender smoked pork ribs covered in creamy sweat carmel red sauce sitting next to perfectly toasted crispy brown garlic bread with a small bit of sweet soft pork and beans on top.
