Tell me a story!

Think about any type of writing, such as things you see in newspapers, magazines, books, or even the Internet. All of those methods have one thing in common: they tell a story! For today's blog, I'm going to start the story, but you're going to continue it with another 3 to 5 sentences so that you can develop those wonderful details. The story can be as real or as make-believe as you'd like. Have fun with it!

Ok - here we go! Everyone should start with this first part.

Mr. Green opened up the newspaper and was shocked when he saw that his five lottery numbers were picked in the drawing! This meant he had won over $100 million and could quit his job. Mr. Green couldn't wait to show up at work the next day, tell his boss the news, and never worry about money ever again. Now he had to contact a financial planner to help him out. He decided to call his good friend, Mr. Warren Buffet.

Mr. Green opened up the newspaper and was shocked when he saw that his oldest friend, Alfred Whiting, whom he had not seen in four years, had died. The paper went on to elaborate that he had been in a fatal car accident on May 16, 2008 while driving north on Old Mill Road, in Spring Lake, NJ. This caused Mr. Green much sadness, not only that his friend had died, but because chance were that Alfred had been on the way to see him; Mr. Green lived at 6578 Old Mill Road, Spring Lake, NJ.

Mr. Green opened up the newspaper and was shocked when he saw a picture of himself starring back at him. The caption said "Man wanted in mass murder". Mr Green stared at this picture for what seemed like an eternity. He could not understand how this mistake could have happened. Mr. Green got up the courage to continue reading the article. It said the murders happened in a small town called Wimoberger in Tampa. Mr Green had never been to Tampa and he could prove it. He called his lawyer and explained the situation to him. He met his lawyer at the police station to get this very dreadful situation sorted.

Mr.Green opened up the newspaper and was shocked when he saw a young man from his neighborhood "who had never been in trouble" walking up towards him with a weapon in his hand. He became so afraid he fell on the ground wondering what should he do but all he could thing of was to lay down on ground without moving. The only thing the young man wanted was to get in the store beside Mr.Green however when he saw that Mr.Green fell on the ground he became so afraid he run aways.

The next day, Mr.Green saw the young man and was too afraid to approach him or even look at him. The young walk up to him and was trying to explain to him that it was all a big misunderstanding and he was too afraid to see if Mr.Green okay but Mr.Green was not buying what he was saying because he saw him with his own two eyes. However Mr.Green was too afraid to let anyone know even the police so he kept it to himself.

Mr. Green opened up the newspaper and was shocked when he read about the deadly helicopter crash in Calidonia Avenue, Panama. Mr. Green felt so sad, because he remembered that he went shopping in that area in his last visit to Panama. This tragedy caused scenes of terror in the city and he felt sorry for the people that work and live in that area. Suddenly, he closed the newspaper and called his friend to get more information about this terrible accident.

Mr. Green opened up the newspaper and was shocked to find the front page, indeed the entire paper, was full of good news! The headlines read, "Fishing tournament raises thousands for food pantry," "Farmers glad for rain, crops swell," "Students becoming stronger swimmers." Yes, it was truly amazing. There was an article about great parks in our own backyards. There was a column telling readers about things to do that are free, or nearly so. Another article was about technology for solar powered hearing aids. People were doing important things, even not such important things, big things, and little things and it was all good. One editorial was about the nature of drivers in South Florida. It seems that when the author went to the parking lot, her car had been hit. There was a note attached to her window which read, "Please call this number. I have hit your car and I would like to pay for the repairs." The author wrote that when she took her car to her repair shop, the person had already made payment arrangements with the shop owner! You may wonder how I know this to be a true story. I am the author of that editorial. Mr. Green smiled.

Mr. Green opened up the newspaper and was shocked when a small brown kitten pranced on him. Attaching its little nails into his jacket, making small holes. He started ferious but looking into its eyes he no longer enraged. Mr.Green started to pet the little fluffy kitten, and poured into a bowl some milk. Mr. Green began to ponder who's kitten was this and what was it doing at his door. He figured he should do some posters and if nothing he was going to keep it aand name it.

Mr. Green opened up the newspaper and was shocked when he saw that the pages were blank. Only the outside pages of the current edition contained print; there was obviously a word thief running amok in the world of print media.

Mr. Green opened up the newspaper and was shocked when he saw that young man he didn't know was claiming to be his son! He was worried that his wife and children would be very upset with him. His wife might even divorce him! What was he going to do? Was this a joke? Was he being punked? To be continued...

Mr. Green opened up the newspaper and was shocked when he saw his ex-wife's smiling face beaming back at him. The headline read "New Business Owner a Success." This was not something that Mr. Green was happy to read.

Mr. Green opened up the newpaper and was shocked when a small black snake fell in his lap.

"Holey Moley," he yelled as he jumped to his feet spilling his coffee down the front of his shirt.

Mr. Green then shreiked in pain and raced for the sink with his coffee mug in hand and trying to pull the wet, hot shirt off his burned chest. After placing the mug on the counter and wrenching his shirt off over his head, he grabbed a towel from the stove handle. He wet the towel with cold water and placed it over the red patch on his chest.

When the burn felt better, Mr. Green glanced around for the snake and found that it was coiled under his chair. Upon further inspection, he realized that the snake was rubber.

Mr. Green growled, "Mr. White, I am going to pay you back for this!" and began plotting a prank to play on his next-door neighbor.
