Writing - What's Your Purpose?

When you write, you always need to have a clear purpose or reason in mind. Are you trying to be serious and convey facts? Do you want to be persuasive and try to get someone to change his or her opinion? Would you like to be funny and make the reader laugh? No matter what you're trying to do, you always need to know your purpose before you even put your pen (or pencil) to the paper!

Earlier this month, I asked you to tell me a story where I gave you some items that you had to include. The story could have been funny, romantic, informative, or even scary. This time, I will give you some items to use, but your goal is to make your writing funny or whimsical. Your events, situations, and characters can all be as outlandish, crazy, or odd as you'd like!

As you write your story, be sure to include the following elements: yellow school bus, three packets of artificial sweetener (such as Splenda or Sweet-n-Low), a lawn chair, and Sam's parakeet named Lucille Ball.

I can't wait to see what you come up with! You've got your purpose, you've got your items, and you're ready to get creative!

During the weekend I went to the flea marketwith my grand mother. I bought a green parakeet named Lucille Ball. I was Happy to to buy it because it had the same first name as pretty mother who died cntury ago. Monday morning I carrying my pet and three packet of sweet-n-low to the bus sop, while I was waiting for my yellow school bus # 660. The other students observed me attentively,
I was sittingon a lawn chair .with my pet. Anyway, when we were in the bus, those kids held my hand, pulled my blouse, they made my pet flew and sweet-n-low spread on the bus. The driver stop driving and we did not have a seat that was became a big catastrophe in that day.

This morning my sisters and I woke up late for school. I decided to make some coffee for us before we ran out the door. I asked my sisters to get the sugar and creamer. My youngest sister reached for the sugar at the top of the shelf, it slipped and poured all over her. The sugar was stuck in her hair because she just got out of the shower. She had to get in the shower again because the sugar was so sticky in her hair. I told her I would have her coffee ready by the time she got out of the shower. She said to me, "I will have 3 packets of artificial sweetner." When we all finished our coffee, we heard the school bus leaving. All of us grabbed ourstuff and started running after the bus. It would not stop, but we kept running. Than my middle sister tripped adn feel, we helped her up and kept running. Finally the bus driver saw us and stopped. Once we sat down in the bus and caught our breath I said, "Hopefully our day will get better, we just have bad luck." When we got home after a long day of school we took our lawn chairs to the park. While we were relaxing, we saw Sam's parakeet named Lucille Ball. Sam is our neighbor, so we brought him his parakeet on the way home. After this long buzy day, we decided to go to bed early tonight. Hopefully tomorrow things will go a little bit more smoothly.

This morning, I was runing late to work because I had to take Lucille Ball my daughter's parakeet to the animal's clinic.

I put some coffe and three packet of sweet-n-low in the car when I left home.
Drinking my coffe and talking to Lucille Ball I got distracted and did not see the stop sign from the yellow school bus, so I was about to end up with a ticket from a police officer.I felt like started a bad week since today is the first day of the week.

Rigth after Lucille Ball shot I got back home since I had to get to work. When i saw my little Brianna seating in a lawn chair waitting on her friend I was so emotional and happy that I did take Lucille to the clinic so her eye can get better. The little girl was saying tank you manmy you made it and i forgot about all the negative things, all I fell now are joy and love!

Yesterday I was having a picnic with my family at the park. The day was so pleasant that we took our lawn chair and seat at the tree's shadow to have same coffee and chill. I, like always, had mine with tree packs of Splenda, sweet but not fattening.
While we were there talking, we observed a yellow school bus approaching at the park. The bus stopped in the parking lot and a bunch of kids from a excursion got out.
I was observing as the kids starting passing by us that each of them had some kind of pet. One in particular got my attention. Was a boy caring a different bird.
I was so curious about the bird that I stood up and walk in the kid's direction. I approach the boy and asked him, what kind of bird it was. He answered it was a parakeet and her name was Lucille Ball, like the TV show. Her aunt brought him from Spain. After taking with the boy for a few minutes I found out a lot about him, even his name.
It was a very interesting and enjoyable day. I particularly was glad to have met Sam and his parakeet. This day is always going to be remembered as "The day I met Sam's parakeet!"

Yesterday, it was my Sam's first day in the summer camp school. He was so excited. We woke up early because his yellow school bus was schedule to pick him up at 8:00 am. I had to prepare his breakfast, lunch and some snacks. First, I took a bath. Next, I made my coffee. I didn't have sugar, so I had to use Splenda. After my son left, I fed Lucille Ball, Sam's parakeet. She was so hungry and she ate all the seeds she had in her bowl. She is so cute but really noisy. I turned on the TV and watched the news. In the afternoon, my son couldn’t stop talking about his first day in the summer camp. He was so tired he slept early last night.

I had the strangest dream the other night. I was on a magic yellow school bus travelling underground. The bus took me to the earth's core. As the bus stopped a parakeet flew by yelling, "my name is Lucielle Ball my name is Lucielle Ball." I thought how odd, this parakeet really looked like the female comeidan Lucielle Ball.
From the corner of my eye I saw a boy. He was wearing the funniest looking hat you could imagine. The hat had bananas, oranges and cherries around it. On the top was a deck of cards in the shape of a pyramid. Guess what else he had hanging from the corners of his hat 3 packets of sweet-low.
I waved to him and he came over. He said, "My name was sam and Lucielle Ball was his parrot." I asked him, "What on earth are you doing living under the earth?" He said, "I sitting in his lawn chair minding his own business one day. The earth opened up and swallowed me and my parkeete. I have been living undeground ever since." I said to him "I will take you back to your family on my magic yellow school bus." And I did.

Mena held herself to keep warm from the cold. The thickness from her coat didn't keep out the chills from the dense snow. David stood before her as if the snow had no effect on him.
With his back turned to mena, David shouted, "Leave me alone, I don't want to see you." Mena's heart began to break as the tears welled in her eyes. She quickly wrapped her arms around his waist and pressed her tear drenched face into his muscular back. Praying that some how David would forgive her. Mena walk slowly around to look into his eyes but David turned his face away. Gently she placed her hands on his face and turned him to look at her.
The big brown eyes that use to have such sparkle had diminished. That cheerfullness that use to own his heart was gone and all that was left was pain and misery.
"David, please forgive me, I love you with all my heart" said Mena, with tears streaming down her cheeks.
"I can't", uttered David, while trying to brake away from the arms of Mena. Knowing in his heart that in her arms is where he wanted to be.
Softly Mena whispered, "look in my eyes David, you know I never meant to hurt you."
David eyes caught Mena's and in an instant love took control.
David passionately placed his soft warm lips up against Mena's lips and the two kissed like they had never kissed before. As David held Mena in his arms he inhaled the sweet scent from her skin that always filled his senses and quickly he become intoxicated. Lost in the power of love; the sweetness that had turned so bitter was beganning to sweeten by the moment. Mena caressed her fingers through the tresses of David hair as she held on to her one true love. She thought to herself, "this time I will never let him go."

"Writing- What's Your Purpose"

As I sat inside my apartment on a hot summers day. My air conditioner decides to stop working. So, I decided to sit out on the porch to get some fresh air. I took my parakeet Lucille Ball out with me onto the pouch, but she remained inside of her cage. Reading the interesting romance novel, I heard a loud screeching noise. I look up, it's a yellow school bus letting the neighborhood kids off. It starts to drive off, when I see this stud muffin of a muscle man sitting across the street, in the neighbors yard. Sitting i a lawn chair, half dressed, with only a pair of colorful beach shorts on. Tall, dark and handsome, he was hot, he put his long locks up in a pony-tail. Grabbed his glass of ice tea, and put what looks to be three packs of splenda into the glass. I said out loud, "huh, no wonder he uses splenda cause he is splendid." And right after me Lucille Ball screams, "He is splendid, He is splendid!" I was so embarrassed I knew for sure he had heard her. I dashed into the house before he could see how beet red my face is. Man, oh man, I looked a Lucille Ball and said,"I need to trade you in for a fish, because if I had a fish i could still be outside."

Sam had to move to Maine
He didn't want to fly in the plane
But he had to go
His parents said so
and they made him give away his Great Dane.

Their new house was rather small
Marilyn Monroe, the Dane, was too tall
She went to a nice home
but Sam felt alone
so he got a parakeet named Lucille Ball

His new friend liked to fly
Sam thought he would give it a try

atop a yellow school bus
Sam jumped with no fuss
and the bus driver breathed "Oh my!"

The boy got up from his fall
which didn't hurt at all
Sam walked back up the road
with Lucy in tow
and to his Mom, the afternoon he recalled

She sat him in a yellow lawn chair
and remarked how he and his pet made quite a pair
but, she explained
they were not the same
because humans weren't meant to fly in the air.

She brought out some iced tea
with sweetener, Sam liked three
and some sunflower seeds for Lucy.

Every morning Sam my neighbour's son would sit out on a lawn chair with his pet parakeet Lucille Ball while waiting on the school bus.

This particular morning I had to see that he got on the bus because his mom had to leave early for work.

Just when I was about to put sugar in my coffee.I heard the yellow school bus stop. so I ran out to take Lucille for Sam could get on the bus.

Then I came back and set Lucille Ball down and proceeded into the kitchen to finish making my coffee.
I then put two packets of splenda
in my cup and sat down to look at the morning news.

But when I took my first sip I realised I had put three packets of splenda intead of two.
