Writing: Let's End Hunger (Part 1)

Have you ever heard of a website called freerice.com? It's a great site with 2 main goals: to provide education to everyone for free and to help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free. How nice would it be to help others while helping yourself?

On that site, you can play vocabulary games. For every question that you answer correctly, the freerice.com website will donate 20 grains of rice through the United Nations' World Food Program to help end hunger.

Your task is to visit the site (freerice.com), play a vocabulary game (or even a few of them), and then report back on your experience! Did you enjoy the site? Was the vocabulary easy or difficult? How many games did you play? How many games did you win by answering correctly

I went to the site. It is very interesting. There are many categories to chose from, I picked vocabulary. I wanted to give at least 1,000 grains of rice .It was not easy but I hang in there until I reached my goal.My french helped me a lot in that game. I want to go back to the site when I have more time and win more rice to help with world hunger.

When I read about this web site feed the hunger, I was very touch for the issue of knowing the playing and learning you can feed people in need. I play the English vocabulary, the words were some of them complete unknowing by me. So in order to win I try to look in each option which was the most likable to the word’s meaning. I play I won 300 grains of rice.
I will return some other time.

The site was interesting. I didn't stay long though, just wanted to check it out. I played a vocabulary game, it wasn't too hard I earned a little bit of rice. I'll try again when I'm not so busy.

After I went on the website, I thought playing a vocabulary game to help feed poor people was a very good idea. It's like the best of both worlds because students like us can learn and improve on essential skills while contributing to a worthwhile cause. I played for quite a bit and will continue to go back on this site for more games. I have already contributed 700 grains of rice and I feel very proud of myself!

When I read about the page, I looked it interesting how I could help with world hunger just by play. I donated 400 grains of rice.I learned some curious words such as counterfeit that means fake.I will go back to play again.

I definitely enjoyed the site; love the idea of something so simple helping others. It was challenging but not difficult. I reached level 14 out of 60. I got 3 wrong out of the ones I completed. Wow I helped give 200 grains of rice to someone in need without leaving home.

I did enjoy the game and learned many new words. Some were difficult, but, it’s nice to know it’s all for a great cause. My total donation of grains was 460. I will be playing the game again.

Just a thought I got from playing this game that I wanted to share;

We live in an abundant world, that we are exhausting little by little. We should be working together instead of against each other. Our world is like a house, but just a really big house that we all share and live in. There isn’t another house that people come from or can move to; we just have this one, our earth. It’s sad to know that we have people starving in our home.
