I use "absolutely" thousand times. I want the questioners know that I understand what they say to me, and respond them firmly. Now, I think I must try to use other words instead of ..... .Oh,give me sometimes to find a new word.

I feel that this word is being used to often. For example, I have a co-worker who uses this word in every conversation he has with a client. Sometimes I wish he would find another word to use. I rarely use this word.

I believe that we all use the word "absolutely" to frequently. It is because we always want to sound credible. Believe me, I am a cashier and if I could have a nickel for everytime a customer uses that word, I would be rich by now.

I think absolutely is used so often because it is a strong word, or it give confidence in a response.
Sometimes one used it as a phrase.
As Mirlene said it depends on how you used the word.

I did not realize that the word was so commonly used. I do not use it in writing rarely in speaking. I have some friends who use it very frequently.

I think "absolutely" is overused by some people. But I don't mind because I like the word. I find it to be very specific. Stronger than a plain "Yes" or "No". I can understand why it became so popular but I don't use it often.
