Letter Writing (Part 1)

I've been a bad blogger lately. While I had good intentions of doing 1 blog post per day, that just didn't happen last week. It's a good thing that I don't get paid per blog topic, isn't it? Just kidding!

However, this has actually inspired me to do today's blog post about letter writing. In fact, today we'll focus on writing an apology letter! (Yes, this is my way of apologizing for being a bad blogger.)

Visit this site (http://www.letterwritingguide.com/apology.htm). Did you know that there are two types of apology letters that you could do (business and personal/friendly)? Did you learn anything important about each type? Have you ever had to write an apology letter?

I visited the site and these are my findings:

In both types of letters you apologize at the beginning and the end.

In the friendly letter the apology should be sincere and comes from the heart.

In the business letter you should explain that you would rectify the problem and try to prevent an occurence.

The writing styles of the letters are different.

The friendly letter style is done in a semi-blocked format - it has indentation.

The business letter style is done in a fully blocked style - everything starts at the left margin.

I was not aware that there are two types of apology letter(business/personal/friendly.

I have never done a formal letter of apology. However, I did send an e-mail to my instructor to apologize for not showing up for our meeting as planned.

A few things that I learned about each type of apology letter are:

1. Apology at the beginning and end of each letter.

2. In a business letter of apology letter, you should explain what went wrong and try to rectify the problem.

3. In a personal letter of apology, you should volunteer or ask if there is any way you can help out to resolve the situation. Then you should let the recipient know that you will try to make sure that the situation will not happen again.

I learn in both letters you have start the sayinng that you are sorry and try to resolve the situation. The different is the language when you rigth the letters in friendly letter is more informal and the bussiness letter you have to write in formal language..

A few years ago, I helped somebody by writing an apology letter to her brother, because of some brother/sister situation. It really have to be sincere, explain in clear sentences how or why the situation occurred, that you are really sorry, and it will never happen again. Sometimes you can really hurt somebody's feelings with your actions, or, just simple words. I was happy to find out that because of the letter I wrote, they began their relationship again.

When you write a business letter apologizing for, let say, you did not go to an interview, and you did not call, you must have a good explanation. This happened to my friend, and it was because she had a car accident. I helped her write a nice apology letter to the Office Manager, explaining what happened, and she got the job.

I had no idea there were two different types of apology letters. I learned that it’s very important to admit your wrong in the letter. I have never had to write this kind of letter and if things go the way I plan then I will never have to in my lifetime.

I have visited the site and read both letter of apology. In the friendly one, you should express your remorse about what went wrong and promise that it will not happen again.
But in the business letter of apology it is not enough to express regret, you also have to give an account of what happen.
I haven't written a letter of apology yet. I hope I never have to.

I am aware of the two types of apology letters. Both letter kinda flow the same they both start off with the writer apologizing. Whereas it differs slightly is that the personal apology admits and except fault; the business apology explains it. Resolving and rectifying go hand in had so again both letters are similar the business letter is basically worded in a business sense. I have not had to write an apology letter before.

In both letters you should say you are sorry at the beginning of the letter, and again in closing you should again apologize.

In the past I have written an apology for not being able to keep an appointment.

I was aware that there are two types of apology letters. Anything personal or business related should be handled differently. I have never written a business apology letter before, but I have written a personal apology letter.

I did not know that there were two types of an apology letter.

I learned that in the business letter once you apologize and explain what went wrong, you then try to rectify the problem. There is no admission of fault, promises that it'll never happen again, etc. It's plain and simple. "I'm sorry. This is what happened. Let's do this or that to fix it." With the personal letter, you admit your fault in the situation, try to resolve it and reassure that person that it won't happen again.

I've never had to write an apology letter.

The site was very helpful because it taught how to write an apology letter for both a personal and business relationship. I was more familiar with how to write a personal one because I have both composed and revieved one the tips on how to do it for business including what went wrong and how you were going to fix it were new to me.

the apology letters in both the personal and business are basically the same. There is an apology at the beginning and an apology in the end. The middle is the stated problem and solution.

In both types letters you start and and with an apology. In the friendly letter, the apology must be sincere i.e. it comes from the heart.

In the business letter you explain what went wrong and try to rectify the problem.

I have never written a friendly apology letter. I prefer to call my friend or speak with them face-to-face.
