I have read the article and I found it very interesting. When you are an administrative assistant, you have to deal with those kind of situations. It is to be expected. But,I think it is also your right to ask for a little more time for last minute work, including more compensation and recognition because you are going to work twice as hard so you can meet a brand new deadline. It is only fair.

The article is fantastic, the author give us tips to interact with people who change their minds about deadlines, and want to rush a job with a previous date. The criteria to apply before accede to do the job has target questions, also when you do this kind of negotiation, you use the customer’s inefficient in your favor, asking them if you can get a little more time to do a quality job.

I really enjoyed this blog.I have gotten alot of ideas about the different ways you can negotiate. Also when asked to do something you could ask for more time BECAUSE you don't want it to be something thrown together.

I found this blog to be refreshing. The tips he mentioned are good pointers when preparing or doing a project/work, and the bonus would be to negotiate. As he wrote, "You don't want to give something without getting something".

I found the article to be very helpful and informative. Administrative Assistants can feel a lot of stress with work assignments and sometimes this can be too much. I appreciated the advise on how to deal with any potential problems. But, in my opinion, it is more important to do a quality job than a rushed job and sometimes quality can take some time. It is just important to find equal balance.

This article was very helpful and informative. I agree that when you are asked to do something at the spur of the moment you should ask for more time to ensure that the job you do is nothing less then your best effort. Any job can be stressful so negotiating for time can be to your benefit to take the stress away from the situation.

There are several ways to handle this kind of situation. The post from "Bad Language", gives several good solutions to this situation. One, you could ask for more time, or you could ask to have the work subcontrated.
