Vocabulary-Use it or Lose It

Today's the day to learn a few new words! Look at the list of words below. Pick four that you're not familiar with, visit the online dictionary, get the definition, and then come back here to post your findings!

The football star was suprised to received the accolade of MVP trophy from the team.

2.Cryptic Adjective- Having or seeming to have hidden.

The message he sent me seem to be cryptic.

3.Ephemeral- Lasting a very short time.
Halftime was so ephemeral.I wish it was longer.

4.Bolster Noun- A long Pillow of cushion.
The baby needed a bolster to reach the toy on the table.

I love the way the bolster looks on the bed.

The man look very cryptic standing by the cash register.

Ephemeral- lasting one day only, or lasting a very short time.

Trying to work out at the gym I found myself being very ephemeral.

Hedonist- happiness in the sole or chief good in life.

I find my teacher to be hedonist each time I see her.

Obliterate (Verb) - to remove utterly from recognition or memory.
The boy tried to obliterate the scar from his hand.

Lamentation (noun) – an act or instance of lamenting i.e., to express sorrow, mourning, or regret for often demonstratively, to regret strongly.

There was a lot of lamentation at the funeral of one of my neighbor’s son, who died tragically in a car accident.

Accolade(noun) an expression of praise.
The trainee musician received a lot of accolade for the expert manner in which he played the keyboard.

Cryptic (adjective): having or seeming to have a hidden or ambiguous meaning; e.g. a cryptic infection.
