Writing-Turning Your Brainstorming Into More

The last blog post asked you to do some brainstorming on things that came to mind when you thought of the season of "summer". I'd like you to make sure that you participated on that topic and then, once you've done that, think about one of your brainstorming ideas. Turn that into a sentence or two where you're giving more detail about that item.

I'll start!

Brainstorming: warmer weather

Sentences: The summer brings hot weather. Instead of having cold fronts that bring chilly air, you can count on summer on having temperatures that range from 85 to 95 degrees. It is not always nice to be outside in Florida.

Summer has its pros and cons. Here are my pros of Summer. In the Morning, you can relax at the beach reading a good book. In the Afternoon, you can go fishing at the peir for dinner. After Dinner, you can relax in a jacuzzi at night with friends. But the mid-summer rays of the sun is too overwhelming to enjoy and every year it gets hotter. When you go outside the heat makes your hair friz and gives you a sunburn.

Summer is my favorite season. But, it is still uncomfortable because of the heat and humidity. The sun is scorching and burns my skin even though I wear sunscreen. The humidity also makes me feel very sweaty. Despite these things, summer is still the best time to go swimming!

Summers weather is great to go to the beach and to do outdoor activities. You do need to hydrate often, because the temperature can rise to the high 90's, feeling like the 100's. You may have to shower often, if you want to cool off or to take that sticky sensation away. A good thing about this weather is that you get to dress as if you’re on vacation everyday. You can wear dresses or shorts with your favorite flip-flops.

The summer months here in Florida are so hot. The sun seems like it shines the brightest or the hottest between the hours of 12 noon to about 4p.m. In those hours it is best to take cover in the shade under a tree, or better yet find some water a take a splash.

Summer to me seams like it's all year round. You are able to for the most part, where the same clothes through out the year. Summer allows you to have more cook outs with your family, you can sit by the pool side and enjoy your day. Some days are a little to hot, but there are so many ways you can injoy the summer.

I enjoy the summer holiday. Although it can be very hot and humid, the days are longer and brighter. It is a great time for family events such as picnic and camping. Just be sure to use a lot of sunscreen lotion and avoid direct exposure to the sun as much as possible.

The ocean is the summer’s hot spot and the water is where everyone wants to be. It’s peaceful when the waves roll into shore, and the taste of salt flowing in the air and water. The ocean beach is where the attention is drawn a lot of people go sunbathing and play beach ball. These are guests favorite hobby’s while there, but watch out for the hot sand!

This summer we went to Blizzard Beach in Disney. It was really hot and lucky for us we wore our bathing suits the whole time. We cooled off going into the water slides and most of the time in the lazy river, but we still needed to refresh with some strawberry and blueberry shaved ice and lots of water. The sun was really stong. We had to re-apply sunscreen many times, and still we got sun burned.

Summer is the best season of the year. No bulky coats, jackets or boots needed to be worn then.
Temperatures can soar up to 95 degrees in the summertime. Being outside for any length of time one can become dehydrated. Its best to drink a lot of fluids and try to stay as cool as possible.

Florida Summers are super hot so my husband and I take the kids to the beach in the evenings at least three times a week. How refreshing it is to have the cool water at my feet and the sand between my toes. Ahhhh, can't wait to go back!

This summer feels hot like an oven and if I stand outside too long, it feels like the sun is burning me alive. The temperature reads 109 degrees, but it feels a lot hotter than that. The good thing is that we have beaches and lots of pools, and if that's not enough, most of us can shower many times in the privacy of our own homes.
