Tell me a story - April's edition

April 15th will be "tax day" when income tax returns are due. In a strange "celebration" of this, let's have April's "tell me a story" blog topic. I'll give you a portion of a sentence to start with and then you can take that in any direction. Please finish up the sentence and add 3-6 correctly written sentences to help create your story. Have fun with it!

Maria called her tax account and was flabbergasted when he said . . .

Maria called her tax accountant and was flabbergasted when he said that she owed $100,000.00 to the IRS. Maria knew this had to be a mistake on the part of her accountant. Maria asked him how could this total be possible? She had one income and no dependents. The accountant had another look at the paperwork. He realised that he had added too many zeros. The amount she owed the IRS should have been $100.00. Maria vowed never to use that accountant again.

Maria called her tax accountant and was flabbergasted when he said that she owed the IRS. How can that be when she only worked 3 months out of the year in 2008. It turns out that the accountant mistakenly took her for someone else.

Maria called her tax accountant and was flabbergasted when he said that she owed $7,000.00 to the IRS.
She knew that it must be something wrong. She checked her income and expenses very carefully before sumitted to the accountant. She looked through the copy of From 1040 and found out that her Social Security Number was printed wrong.

Maria called her tax account and was flabbergasted when he said that her taxes were not ready yet, and politely she replied “I mailed my w2 about three weeks ago.” The tax accountant was speechless and could not find words to excuse his incompetence. He explained Maria his delayed was due to short staff and promised to have them ready no later than April 14th which made Maria furious.

Maria called her tax account and was flabbergasted when he said she owed $10,000.00. She couldn't believe what her ears were hearing. They went over every piece of documentation she submitted to him and discovered that he had made a mistake. She was actually due $5,000.00 from the IRS. It all worked out in her favor.

Maria called her tax accountant and was flabbergasted when he said, "you have $1000.00 coming in." She thought that she was going to have to owe the IRS. You, see, Maria's previous accountant had neglected a few deductons from the year before. So he asked her if she would like to claim them this year. She agreed. It all added to a nice little amount that she can really use.

Maria called her tax accountant and was flabbergasted when he said you only have one day in which to file your taxes. What! I did not realize that the deadline was upon me. How soon can I get an appointment? I am not sure he said. Several of my customers have waited until the appointed time to get their taxes done. However, I will see what I can do for you before mid-night in order to avoid penalties.

Maria called her tax accountant and was flabbergasted when he said that the owes $30.00 to the IRS. Maria knew this had to be a mistake because she had two dependents and a few rental properties. She asked the accountant to take another look at the paperwork. He realized that there was an error in regards to the rentaly depreciation from the previous years. She was thrilled that she would be getting a $4000.00 refund instead of owing $30.00.
